IT IS ABOUT TIME TO FREE POLLARD!!!

Prime Minister Netanyahu should ask US President Barack Obama in their meeting Wednesday to commute the life sentence of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard to the nearly 29 years he has served, the heads of the pro-Pollard Knesset caucus said Tuesday.  The meeting is expected to focus on Iran, Islamic State, and Netanyahu’s proposal to involve moderate Arab countries in solving the conflict with the Palestinians. But MKs Nachman Shai (Labor) and Ayelet Shaked (Bayit Yehudi) said Pollard’s release on humanitarian grounds should be on the table, too.

“The years are passing and nothing is happening,” the MKs said in a joint statement. “Pollard remains in prison and there is no release date. There is no value in continuing to hold him. His fate should not be tied to that of Palestinian prisoners. He has served too long and it is time to free him.”  Effi Lahav, who heads the Pollard campaign, said that in addition to matters of justice and Pollard’s frail health, there is a new reason to release him: the collaboration of Israel and the US in fighting terror.  “The strategic cooperation, including in intelligence, between Israel and the US in the war on terror proves more than ever that the Pollard saga must end,” Lahav said.

Unconfirmed sources claim that Israel has presented the Palestinians with a new package aimed at extending peace talks, and the US has not taken the possible release of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard off of the table.  A diplomatic source said that "if the Palestinian Authority agrees to stop its plans to join a number of international treaties and conventions, Israel will agree to a new prisoner release package in return for the continuation of negotiations until the end of the year at a minimum."  According to the source, the Palestinians expressed willingness to consider the compromise offer put on the table by Justice Minister Tzipi Livni.  The emerging deal will allow both sides to "come down from the tree" and appear publicly as if they did not compromise on their positions.  "This is part of the Israeli suggestion which is now being considered by the Palestinian side, while at the same time the US mediator sent a message to Israel - the release of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard from a US prison is still a possibility the US administration will consider, if the sides reach a deal that includes Israel freeing terrorists," the sources said.

The sides are still not close to an agreement due to the Palestinian demand that Israel freeze settlement construction and due to the fact that the details of a new prisoner release deal have not been reached.  Israeli and Palestinian negotiators met again in Jerusalem on Thursday, along with US envoy to the peace talks, Martin Indyk.  The Prime Minister's Office emphasized Thursday that "if the PA will not stop its unilateral joining of UN conventions, the prime minister's decision is clear - unilateral steps will be answered by unilateral steps from our side. Some of our responses have already com,e and some are still being prepared and are awaiting approval from the political echelon in the event that they will be necessary."

The Palestinians are threatening further steps in the international arena against Israel. Despite tensions with US Secretary of State John Kerry over his comments earlier this week in which he was perceived to place greater blame for the crisis in negotiations on the Israeli side, sources in Jerusalem said: "The crisis which we are trying to get out of is the full responsibility of the Palestinians , but the prime minister is not interested in a breakdown in talks, and his goal is to seek their extension."

The Palestinian negotiating team sent a similar message to the American mediator Indyk, after he told the sides that the end of the month was the deadline for arriving at a deal to extend the talks.

In the fallout over President Barack Obama blaming the intelligence community for the rise of the Islamic State, a new report has surfaced showing that he attended less than half of his daily intel briefings.

The Government Accountability Institute, an investigative research organization, said the president went to only 42.1 percent of his intelligence meetings, known as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB, in the 2,079 days of his presidency through Monday, according to Breitbart.

The GAI report also revealed during his first term he attended 42.4 percent of the briefings, while Obama has even reduced that number in his second term, with just a 41.3 percent attendance record.

During an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday, the president claimed that Director of National Intelligence James Clapper had failed to warn the Obama administration that the Islamic State terror group, also known as ISIS, was gaining a strong foothold in Iraq and Syria.

“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” he said.

The White House said that the president prefers to read his intelligence briefings on his iPad instead of having in-person briefings, according to reports.

But Breitbart said, “The question remains whether a 42 percent attendance record on daily intelligence briefings is good enough for most Americans.”

Por eso estamos, como estamos!

IT IS SOOOOOO SIMPLE...but there a lot of deaf ears and blind eyes

Those who paid close attention to Netanyahu’s speech will recall that he made one overarching point. That the Islamic terrorist groups now arrayed around the world, but centered largely in the Middle East, share a common ideology that is a danger to everyone who does not share that ideology. And that ideology is global Muslim domination.
t
To support the position that all share the same goal of global Militant Islamic domination, he quoted the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi; the leader of Hamas, Khaled Mashaal; and the founding and current rulers of the Islamic State of Iran. All three state clearly as their doctrine that their ultimate goal is for Islam to be the supreme faith of the entire world, and for that goal to be realized through force.
Baghdadi: “A day will come when the Muslim will walk everywhere as a master, the Muslims will cause the world to hear and understand the meaning of terrorism and destroy the idol of democracy.”
Mashaal: “We say this to the world: by Allah you will be defeated. Tomorrow our nation will sit on the throne of the world.”
Khomeini: “We will export our revolution to the entire world until the cry of ‘There is no god but Allah’ will be heard throughout the world.’
And this, from the Major General Mohammad Ali Jafaricurrent commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards: “Our Imam did not want the Islamic Revolution for this country. Our duty is to prepare the way for an Islamic world government.”
And this, from Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s current foreign minister: “We have a fundamental problem with the West, and especially with America. This is because we are heirs to a global mission which is tied to our raison d’être.

OOOOPS....THE WHITE HOUSE is not going to like it

One of the youth, “A.” said he is part of a group of four young men who are in the two-story house near the Silwan Pool. He described the house as “very beautiful” and recently renovated. “A” added there was no violence and that the group intends to stay there for another day or two.  One resident of City of David said there is a long waiting list of families waiting for buildings to be purchased by Jews.

Three of the homes are located in the City of David complex, located on the road opposite the Dung Gate that is the entrance to the Western Wall Plaza. At least one of the other homes is situated near the ancient Silwan Pool.  The Jewish Press has learned that approximately two dozen youth moved into the newly-purchased homes as part of a strategy to show an immediate presence prior to families moving in.

Israeli soldiers and security personnel protect Jews in Silwan Valley.

PS.-THIS IS A MOVE THAT THE WHITE HOUSE IS NOT GOING TO LIKE AND THEY ARE SURE TO CONDEMN IT, OR AT LEAST, CRITICIZE.  FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW...IT IS A JUST MOVE AND I HOPE THERE ARE MORE LIKE IT SO WE CAN RECLAIM WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS AND IF THE HADJIS DON'T LIKE...WELL THEY CAN RESETTLE 400 MILES DUE WEST....LOL...WEST!
More than two dozen Jews under heavy police escort moved into six more homes purchased by a Jewish investment company in Silwan Valley, including the City of David complex, in eastern Jerusalem Monday night.  A group of Arabs hurled firecrackers and stones at police in a failed attempt to enter one of the buildings, and one policeman was treated at the scene for head wounds.
The leftist camp, backed by the European Union and Obama administration, has continuously protested the presence of Jews in the Arab neighborhood. HOWEVER, THEY DO NOT PROTEST OF THE PRESENCE OF ARABS IN JEWISH NEIGHBORHOODS OR TERRITORIES.
Jews, including a large group from Yemen, lived in the Silwan area decades ago but were forced out by the British during the period of the Mandate even though properties were purchased by Jews.  The City of David organization keeps its lips shut tight on how buildings are bought, and the recent purchases are no exception.  Its spokesman Ze’ev Orenstein told The Jewish Press that the organization was not “directly involved” in the purchases, which were carried out by the Kendell Financing company. Kendell’s lawyer Avi Segal told The Jewish Press, “Kendell Finance is a company that deals with property and investments. The company chose to invest in buildings in Jerusalem that were bought legally.”
All other questions to Segal and Orenstein were met with a wall of silence, which is the smartest strategy because anything they say will be held against them by Peace Now, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and anyone else who cannot stand to see Jews violating the sacred principles of the holy ”peace process” that demands the expulsion of Jews from the same neighborhood from which the British once expelled them.
Al sources are mum on the purchase price of the homes and the whereabouts of the previous Arab owners.  It is widely accepted that the buildings fetch a hefty price, especially since the Arab sellers know that Jews are willing to pay through the nose to return to the area.  The Arab sellers usually operate through a third party to protect themselves and their families from their brethren who consider them traitors for selling to Jews.
The Obama administration can be expected to frown on the new purchases in Silwan Valley.  Let them frown. AND AS THE PICTURES RIGHTFULLY CLAIMS...THERE IS ONLY ONE JERUSALEM...

Jewish settlers moved into seven homes in a Palestinian neighborhood of east Jerusalem on Tuesday.  The homes in Silwan, which sits in the shadow of Jerusalem's Old City, were purchased by Elad, a pro-settlement group that uses funds from Jewish supporters in the United States and elsewhere to buy properties in Palestinian districts.  Tuesday's move was the largest purchase of homes in Silwan since the process began in the neighborhood in 1986, taking to 26 the number of Jewish-owned properties, local officials said. Around 90 Jewish families, totaling 500 people, live in Silwan among some 50,000 Palestinians. Israeli police protect them.

"This is a government by the settlers for the settlers," said Saeb Erekat, the Palestinians' chief peace negotiator, calling the move an attempt to erase Palestinian identity.  "It serves the objective of altering the character of Jerusalem through isolating, containing and confining Palestinian existence, allowing for more Israeli land-grabs."  Residents of Silwan, a tightly packed neighborhood of winding streets on the side of a hill, acknowledged on Tuesday there is little they can do to stop the new residents from moving in.

Silwan neighborhood
Silwan has long been an objective for Jewish organizations, with many Jews believing that the ancient City of David once stood where the Palestinian neighborhood now stands.  In the latest case, all of the homes were purchased legally by Elad via intermediaries, usually Palestinian brokers who buy the properties from local families at inflated prices.

At one house, Khaled Karaeen, 62 and a father of six, sat with his head in his hands in the courtyard of his home, edgily flicking worry beads, unable to believe what had happened.  Relatives said one of Karaeen's sons had sold a dwelling inside the grounds of the family home to a Palestinian broker about a year ago for 1.2 million shekels ($300,000), around twice as much as the property was probably worth.   Karaeen refused to speak to visitors on Tuesday, with family members saying he was too ashamed by what his son had done. Karaeen's brother said he had spoken by phone to the son, who had fled to the north of Israel.  In the past, Palestinians found to have sold their homes to settler organizations have been killed.

The broker had then sold the apartment to Elad, which then rented it out to the Jewish residents, who moved in during the early hours of Tuesday morning with the help of Israeli police.  The Jewish family, which declined to be interviewed, had barricaded themselves inside, blocking a yellow door that opens onto Karaeen's courtyard. Karaeen sat three meters (10 feet) away.  "They want to make a joke of us," said Fadi Maragha, a local representative of the Palestinian political party Fatah, who said he had come to offer support to the family.   "They think they can drive us out. But we are the landowners. We were here and we will be here until we have all of Palestine without any Jewish people in it," he said.  Asked what would happen to the son and the broker to whom he had sold the property, Maragha said he felt they should die, but he did not expect that to happen.  "We know who the broker is. He's living in a town south of Jerusalem," he said. "But he's rich and he's protected, including by the Israelis."

SO...WHAT ELSE IS NEW...era de esperar...

Last night (Monday), State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the UN General Assembly, criticizing some of his statements. "Obviously, we've designated both as terrorist organizations, but ISIS poses a different threat to Western interests and to the United States," said Psaki about the comparison Netanyahu made between the organizations, and his call out to the world to fight them both.

"We do not believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu, or anyone else in Israel is suggesting that the United States launch a military campaign against Hamas. They are both terrorist organizations under the United States designations, but certainly we see differences - in terms of the threat and otherwise", stressed Psaki.  The spokeswoman was also asked about the generalization made by the Prime Minister in reference to Sunni and Shia organizations, as those striving to create radical Islamic enclaves. "We do not agree with that definition", said Psaki, regarding that statement as well.
In his speech, the Prime Minister called Iran's moves "a charm offensive" and called out not to fall for it. "I can assure anyone that an agreement reached would not be based on a 'charm offensive' or how that impacts us, but on the facts and the details", said the State Department spokeswoman in response, stating that talks with Iran are important as an initial step towards integration into the western community.
The spokeswoman also emphasized the efforts made by the United States with regard to nuclear Iran, but even here, drew a line between that and the threat posed by ISIS. "Both are major threats. We spent a lot of time and energy because we are concerned, as Israel, by Iran acquiring nuclear weapons", stated Psaki. "We are also concerned by the ISIS threat, that's why we are putting in all this effort".

PS.-
ISIS IS HAMAS AND HAMAS ISIS...THEY ARE BOTH BRANCHES OF THE SAME POISONOUS TREE...WHICH IS islam.  WE KNOW THAT, THEY KNOW THAT AND EVEN PRES. Obama Invites Indian Leader to Dinner While He Is Observing Religious Fast,”
Adam Kredo, WFB, September 29, 2014
Administration under fire for perceived insensitivity to Hindu traditions

The Obama administration was grilled on Monday for inviting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a state dinner while he is fasting as part of a Hindu religious observance, a move that has been criticized by some as insensitive.  Obama will host Modi Monday evening at the White House “for a private dinner” that will also be attended by Vice President Joe Biden, the White House announced Monday morning. The event is closed to the press.  However, the administration appears to have forgotten that Modi is in the middle of carrying out a religious fast in observance of the Hindu navratri, in which the faithful abstain from food, according to reports.  The administration’s seeming insensitivity to Modi’s religious observance caused a tense back-and-forth during the State Department’s daily briefing with reporters.
State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki was forced to defend the decision to hold the dinner on the holy day.  “I’m just wondering if anyone thought it was really that much of a good idea to host and dinner and lunch for the visiting president who is the middle of a fast,” asked Associated Press reporter Matt Lee.  “We certainly understand that and recognize it and respect it, his fast. It’s a way of honoring an individual,” Psaki responding.  “Are these people going to be actually eating in front of him?” Lee followed up.  “I don’t have the menu in front of me, Matt,” Psaki said.  Lee explained that the optics could be offensive.  “So he’s going to be sitting there drinking his water or lemon flavored water and everyone else is going to be chowing down on a four course meal in front on him?” the reporter asked.  “We can check and see what the menu is if it’s of interest to you,” Psaki replied.  “Is there actually going to be food served?” pressed Lee. “It seems a little impolite if someone can’t eat because they’re doing a religious [fast]. You wouldn’t invite a practicing Muslim to lunch in the Middle of Ramadan would you?”  “It seems kind of odd they would choose an event and then a lunch with someone who can’t eat,” Lee said.  Psaki responded that the overarching goal of the meals are to “to honor the visit” by Modi.
Modi has been engaged in a prominent diplomatic tour since arriving in the United States earlier this month.  He met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, among others, in a meeting that generated multiple agreements on a range of economic and security fronts, according to announcements by both governments.  Including the sale to India of Iron "Kippah" Dome batteries worth billions of dollars as well as other industrial and agricultural enterprises.

THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US...WHY SHOULD WE CARE ABOUT THEM

The fight against the Islamic State have cost nearly $1 billion so far and are likely to run between $2.4 billion and $3.8 billion per year if air and ground operations continue at the current pace, according to a think tank analysis.

But a ramp-up, including more air strikes and a significant boost in ground forces, could send costs soaring to between $13 billion and $22 billion annually, said the analysis released on Monday by the nonpartisan Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments.

"Future costs depend, to a great extent, on how long operations continue, the
steady-state level of air operations, and whether additional ground forces are deployed beyond what is already planned," said the report by Todd Harrison and other analysts.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told reporters last week that the Pentagon has spent roughly $7 million to $10 million per day on operations against Islamic State since June 16, when it first deployed troops to assess the Iraqi military and advise its leaders.  The United States began air strikes against Islamic State militants in Iraq on Aug. 8 and expanded them to Syria on Sept. 22. Coalition forces have carried out 290 air strikes in Iraq and Syria, of which the U.S. military has conducted 265.  US planes are flying about 60 reconnaissance sorties per day, and some 1,600 U.S. troops are being deployed in Iraq.

The think tank's analysis estimated the cost of US operations against Islamic State through Sept. 24 at between $780 million and $930 million. That agreed roughly with Hagel's estimate of the cost per day.  If air operations continue at a moderate level and deployed ground forces remain in the range of 2,000, then the cost of the US military effort against the militant Islamist group would likely run between $200 million and $320 million per month, the report said.

But increased air operations, coupled with the deployment of up to 5,000 ground troops, would cost between $350 million and $570 million per month. High-intensity air operations with a deployment of 25,000 troops could cost $1.1 billion to $1.8 billion per month, the report said.

PS.-
Actually, we are defending islamic countries who couldn't care less about the USA
and thus, we are spending our hard-earned-dollars-turn-into-taxes to benefit islamic countries...first, Al-Queida, now ISIS, Al-Nusra, etc.  There is always something going on between sunni and shiite...I say...stay out and let them kill each other...who cares about thousand of hadjis less...LET US HELP KURDISTANIS TO FIGHT FOR THEIR SURVIVAL AND INDEPENDENCE!!!!!!

ISRAEL: LIGHT TO THE NATIONS

With all the negative spin about Israel that permeates much of the discourse on the Middle East, it is always good to remember to highlight the positive aspects. According to the National Energy Index 2012, published by the Foundation for National Security Research, a think tank based in New Delhi, Israel is among the top ten most powerful nations of the world.

The NPI ranks countries in terms of their ability to influence world events. The classification is based on a statistical comparative analysis of a country's economy, military, diplomacy, technology, and population. The NPI classified military capability of Israel as sixth in the world (and the strongest in the Middle East). The technology that ranks fourth. Its economy is in the twenty-fifth place. In addition, Israel is considered a world leader in technology and science.

Significantly, the study notes that Israel ranks fifteenth in the rate of development of the UN, a reflection of the high quality of life enjoyed by the Israelis.

Think about it. Modern Israel was created after 2000 years of housing and lack of Jewish powerlessness and hand the systematic murder of six million Jews. And after decades just six and a half years of existence that is at the forefront of national achievements - an international force to be reckoned with.

What a contrast to the centuries of persecution and devastation of the Holocaust, when Jews had no place of refuge. And what a reminder of the need for lighting a secure Jewish homeland.

BRAVO MR. GOLFER-IN-CHIEF...thanks, it is about time!!!

NOW THAT THE WAR IS OVER…PRES HUSSEIN OBAMA SENDS THE MISSILES

Now that the war has ended with the Hamas terrorist rulers of Gaza, the Obama White House has apparently unclenched its fist and allowed the Pentagon to send Israel some of the Hellfire missiles that were on ‘back order.’

Ammunition used by Israeli tanks and other essential military supplies had also been held up due to a new requirement that any military supplies undergo special review by staff at the State Department and the White House.

The mandate came in mid-August during Operation Protective Edge, while Israel was struggling with half a dozen or more broken cease-fires and more than 300,000 internally displaced citizens fleeing Hamas rocket fire.

The hold on military supplies was dubbed an issue of “bureaucracy” according to a senior military official. A special effort was made to appear as though the process had not been intended to convey disapproval by the Obama administration; but it was clear to most media, at least, that the unprecedented procedure had been instigated by an angry president fuming over Israel’s war with Gaza.

PS.-
THIS IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE ... BLACKMAIL ... OR YOU DO WHAT I SAY OR YOU DO NOT GET THE STUFF TO FIGHT YOUR WAR...PLAIN AND SIMPLE...BLACKMAIL!!!!!!!

ISRAEL SHOULD DO EVERYTHING WITHIN HER POWER TO RELY LESS AND LESS ON AMERICAN STUFF...OR LET US BUILD IT OURSELVES OR BUY IT FROM SOMEBODY ELSE.

ISRAEL SHOULD TRUST THE US BUT IT SHOULD NOT TRUST THE WHITE HOUSE UNDER THE PRESENT INCUMBENT....unless we do what he says...like a puppet...on a string from a wicked puppeteer...

AN ENEMY THAT GROWS NEW APPENDAGES LIKE A HYDRA

Many people have seemingly forgot the lessons of Iraq.

No matter how you feel about the scourge of terrorism or the evil of IS (and both are global security threats), it’s a fact that the US has been overburdened by two wars in the Middle East. It’s also a fact that the original threat of al-Qaida has now been surpassed by IS. In all likelihood, once IS is defeated, another new terrorist group in the region will rear its ugly head, and America will be asked once again to defeat yet another global threat. Unfortunately, the US plays right into the hands of these terrorists by risking lives, spending trillions and engaging in counterinsurgency wars against an enemy that wages guerrilla warfare. The US should no longer be in Iraq, the country should be defended by its own forces, and IS is not worth another American war in the Middle East.

First, the horrific IS beheading videos have seemingly made everyone forget about the monumental sacrifice of the US Armed Forces in the past decade.

After 4,486 US soldiers died in Iraq and 2,345 US soldiers died in Afghanistan, one million US soldiers wounded in both wars, and a potential cost of up to $6 trillion, a new group like IS now causes havoc in the Middle East. We’ve done enough battling an enemy that grows new appendages like a hydra.

Even if more US blood and money is spent in the ultimate goal of defeating of IS, who is to say another terrorist group won’t take its place? Furthermore, we still have a horrendous VA crisis. Both Republicans and Democrats should remember the VA crisis that is still taking place: over 514,000 veterans are still waiting for disability benefits, the average wait time for their first claim is 318 days, and the average wait time for additional claims is over 160 days. America has done enough and our soldiers, and their families, have sacrificed enough. Another war in Iraq against ISIS MUST be waged by the 250,000 Iraqi troops, Kurdish forces and local and regional enemies of IS. Both Iran and Saudi Arabia are enemies with IS, so let them pitch in to destroy the group.

Finally, terrorism is not the scourge to Americans that some people assume and IS is certainly not America’s Hamas. Using State Department numbers, there was a total of 19 American citizens (including the Boston Marathon Bombing) killed by terrorist attacks in 2013. In 2013, there was a total of over 17,800 deaths around the world from terrorist attacks; the majority of these attacks taking place in unstable regions like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia. America can’t be in all those countries at once and can’t address terrorist groups like Boko Haram in Nigeria, or Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines, without stretching its forces dangerously thin. Truly fighting terror means being all places at once; nobody knows if a group in Yemen or Somalia or Nigeria will be the next organization linked to a terrorist bombing that affects the West.

While Hamas and its rockets terrorize Israel all the time, IS doesn’t have ICBMs – it’s a long way from Iraq to the US. Linking the possibility of another 9/11 to each and every terrorist group in the globe will lead to never-ending and perpetual American wars.  Destroying IS, like defeating al-Qaida before it, will not ensure stability in Iraq or global security from terrorism.  The vast majority of terror attacks affect human beings in other countries and as General Bolger and many others have stated, America fights best in short wars; not protracted and never- ending conflicts like Vietnam or the recent Iraq War. American troops should no longer be in Iraq and we ignore recent lessons learned at our own peril.

A PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR 5,775 (2a entrega)

The Jewish New Year 5,775 has begun and Jews worldwide are faced with a simple question: Will you be a better person in the coming year? The 10 Days of Penitence, which culminate with the fast of Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, are days of reflection and introspection on our deeds over the past year, and looking forward to the new year, we pray it will be filled with happiness, hope, good health and peace on earth.

During these solemn days, the Jewish custom is to ask forgiveness from people we have wronged and pledge to do better in our interpersonal relationships going forward. This should include asking forgiveness of those we have wronged without being aware of it – those who feel disenfranchised in our community, those who can’t access the tremendous opportunities the Jewish community affords its members, those we have prevented from joining and participating.

I am talking of people with disabilities.

The Jewish community has always been at the forefront of the social justice and human rights movements. We have made every effort to ensure that society as a whole is welcoming to everyone and all people have equal access. Yet our own community has failed to live up to its own lofty standards and lags behind the rest of society when it comes to including the largest minority among us.

Twenty percent of the population has some form of disability. Our community has begun making strides toward being fully inclusive, but much work remains to be done. If our synagogues are not physically accessible, if our schools and camps are not inclusive, if our places of business do not employ people with disabilities, we will simply not survive. Every Jew can contribute and preventing them from doing so affects us all.  Jewish survival is a much discussed and oft-debated topic in our community.

Recent studies have shown that more and more young Jews are becoming unaffiliated and are less likely to become members of our synagogues, attend Jewish schools or camps or be involved in communal activities. If our very survival is at stake, then we must provide access to every Jew who wants to participate and leave no one on the outside looking in.  Young people view our communal organizations as archaic and outdated.

Many of them attended schools which are inclusive, a large swath of them have relatives or friends who have a disability. Inclusion is considered par for the course, not extraordinary. They are committed to social justice and human rights. It’s in their DNA as Jews. Yet if Jewish organizations are not inclusive, they will look elsewhere and devote their time and energies to other causes. Our entire community needs to be just as committed to taking the next step and making full inclusion a reality.

In the High Holiday prayers we say, “May we all blend into one community to do Thy will with a whole heart.”  We can never be whole unless we are one community, with everyone having an equal seat around the table.  May each of us work in the New Year to help create a fair and flourishing Jewish community.

Happy New Year.

A PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR 5,775 (1a entrega)

Despite the dangers mounting all around us, as we approach Rosh Hashana 5775, for Jews in Israel, in many ways things have never been better.  On Sunday night, President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke at the 10th-anniversary celebration marking the founding of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.   In his remarks, Rivlin described the impact of what he referred to as the “revolution” Menachem Begin led in Israeli society.  Through his victory in the 1977 Knesset elections, which marked the end of the Labor Party’s monopoly on power, Rivlin explained, Begin began the process of expanding the definition of what it means to be an Israeli. Until Begin rose to the premiership, entire sectors of society, Mizrahim from Arab countries, new olim, religious Zionists and haredim had been shunned by the establishment.  Begin changed that.

Begin opened the doors to everyone, facilitating their entry into society on their own terms, transforming
Israel from a melting pot, where everyone was supposed to aspire to become a member of the in-group, into a multicultural society, where all expressions of Israeli-ism were welcome.   The goal of Begin’s revolution was to develop Israel into an open, dynamic and inclusive society. Begin ushered in its first phase – inclusion. He didn’t live to see the next phase, that of integration. In the first phase, the spurned sectors Begin embraced defined themselves more by what distinguished them from other Israelis than by what united them with their fellow Israelis.  Today, Rivlin explained, we are in the next phase of Begin’s revolution as we see the integration of more and more Israelis into a new, dynamic, inclusive model of Israeli-ism. This is a model based on what unites us, rather than what drives us apart.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu also highlighted the sense of national unity that increasingly defines the Israeli experience. Netanyahu dwelled on its foundations – the shared Jewish heritage and values that form the basis of Israeli society.

Both men marveled at how far Israel has come in this direction over the past decade and a half by recalling the uncertain beginning of the Begin Heritage Center when, during Netanyahu’s first tenure as prime minister, the Knesset passed a law mandating its formation.  At the time, Israeli society was suffering from an unprecedented level of polarization.  Many Labor members responded to Begin’s rise to power by turning to the radical Left. In 1993, with the inauguration of the so-called peace process with the PLO, the Labor Party transformed itself from the party that encompassed the national ethos into one that undermined it.

The ethos that Labor had developed in its years in power was one of collective security and shared fate. The peace process, predicated as it was on Israeli culpability for the Arab world’s rejection of the Jewish state, subverted the national ethos. After all, if Israel itself was responsible for the absence of peace, and until 1993, Israel’s strategic posture was based on activist defense, then Israel’s strategic posture, and the social understandings it was rooted in, were responsible for Arab hatred and aggression, and therefore they had to be rejected.

After Netanyahu defeated Labor leader Shimon Peres in the 1996 elections, Labor and its partners rooted their strategy for returning to power on exploiting the sectoral identities cultivated by Begin in order to turn Israelis against one another.  The results of the 1999 elections demonstrated the strategy’s success. Likud and Labor – the big tent parties – were vastly weakened as sectoral parties rose in power and influence, reflecting the unraveling of society’s sense of shared destiny.  This disintegration, together with the so-called peace process’s subversion of the national ethos of collective security, brought about a situation where when the PLO rejected statehood and peace at Camp David in 2000 and Yasser Arafat turned to jihad, Israeli society was weaker than it had been since the early 1950s.  It took the efforts of Israelis from all walks of life, and from all sectors of society, who read the writing on the wall, to forge a new national ethos. The new Israeli ethos is built not only on security and shared fate, but on the far firmer foundation of a shared Jewish heritage.

Unlike what Israel’s many detractors claim, there is nothing fanatical about Jewish heritage.

To the contrary, being loyal to that heritage means not only that Jews of all walks of life can feel at home in Israel, but that Israel’s non-Jewish citizens can integrate into Israeli society without having to surrender their unique cultural and religious identities.  It is this new sense of national identity and purpose that enabled Israeli society to stand as one through the disasters we absorbed this summer. And as Netanyahu emphasized on Sunday evening, it is this inclusive unity, that Menachem Begin did so much to facilitate, that forms the basis of Israel’s ability to survive in a regional and international environment that grow more dangerous and hostile by the day.

As Israelis work to maintain our unity while embracing our diversity, American Jews find themselves divided and increasingly polarized across ideological and social lines. While what unites American Jews is more significant than what divides them, many key groups appear to have lost sight of this basic truth.  Radical groups that reflect the views of almost no significant American Jewish constituency, have jumped in to fill the void. And owing to the absence of a clear, strong message from key components of the community, they are making headway in their goal of unraveling and disempowering the Jewish community of America.

In Israel, as traditional elites failed in the 1990s, new forces emerged to take up the charge of rebuilding Israeli society. Their success paved the way for the unity of Israeli society that today enables Israel to stand fast against a rising tide of military and diplomatic threats.  It is my fervent prayer for 5775 that the American Jewish community will take a lesson from Israeli society, and unify against the growing forces of anti-Jewish bigotry. May they embrace our shared Jewish heritage and stand with one another to secure the rights and freedom of the Jewish people in the coming year and into the future.

The Islamic State Captures Army Base Near Baghdad, Executes 300 Soldiers

IS or ISIS or ISIL...AFTER ALL...WHAT IS IN A NAME

Militants from ISIS have overrun an Iraqi military base near Baghdad and executed 300 soldiers,
according to a breaking news report from CNN.

While Pres. Hussein Obama pats himself on the back for his pinprick air strikes on the Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL), they continue to kill and capture. Obama said the U.S. strikes had made it so that “these terrorists can’t find safe haven anywhere.” They did — near Baghdad.  Obama’s sloganeering is comedy material for months, years to come.  Obama couldn’t bring himself to negotiate a status of forces agreement with Iraq. Everybody knew the Iraq army wasn’t up to the task. Everybody knew. But Obama’s narcissism and left-wing policies of destruction are going to cost this once-great nation in unimaginable ways. This is just the beginning.  The successes of the Islamic State will continue to fuel Islamic imperialism and supremacism in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and North America, while inspiring thousands of Westernized Muslims to join them in Syria and Iraq, or to behead the kuffar on the job in Oklahoma and in broad daylight on the streets outside London.  Over the past few weeks, ISIS fighters in the north of Iraq and more recently in the west of Syria have been bombarded by U.S.-led strikes. Strikes in Syria from the U.S. Air Force, Navy and allies, plus Tomahawk missiles, disabled much of the militants’ infrastructure and also hit their income-generating oil wells.  United States President Barack Obama expects the campaign in Syria and Iraq against ISIS to last up to three years. The campaign may cost as much as $10 billion.  To this you have the human cost of the Iraki and Afghanistani War, as well as the cost in dollars, which probably go into billions as well...

PS.- REMIDER…..CNN calls these savages “militants,” but calls Pamela Geller & Co. “haters,” “islamophobes,” and “racists” for running ads designed to increase aware of the jihad doctrine.  Also “remember” these are NOT “moderate” islamists….lol….lol….jajajajaj…these are the bad guys…Why don't we let them kill each other?  The less hadjis in the world...the better for Israel...lol.

PS.-
In Greek mythology, Cassandra (Greek: Κασσάνδρα, pronounced [kas̚sándra͜a], alsoΚασάνδρα), also known as Alexandra or Kassandra, was the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of TroyA common version of her story is that Apollo gave her the power of prophecy in order to seduce her, but when she refused him, he gave her the curse of never being believed. Cassandra is a figure of both epic tradition and of tragedy.  Of foretelling future events and not being believed.

Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu reminds me of her...the State of Israel has been the first line of defense against international terrorism since its birth, or even before its birth.  Wars have been fought and won by her glorious I.D.F.  Territories have been won over and then given back in the name of peace.  Yet peace has never been achieved...why???  Because the hadjis do not want peace...rather, they want a piece...of Israel...peace for a piece...then no peace.....and again, peace for a piece...

They will never be satisfied until they have capture the whole of Israel and kill all the Jews (plus others, as well).  Then with the Jews out of the way...there will be peace...or another war...this time between the sunnis and shiite...they way they are fighting in Iraq now.

Mr. Netanyahu a have a solution...let us really annex Gaza and the whole of the West Bank.  Gaza is Israel...remember Gush Katiff!  Judea and Samaria are also Israel.  Sinai is Israel.  Let us draw new borders and to hell with the world.  Let the world condemn us...after all, we have been their scapegoats all the time.  They always have wanted our demise.  So, who cares...lets us rebuild our Third Temple where it goes...on Temple Mount.  Let us demolish the Al-Aksa Mosque and the other buildings around it and by the way...the mosque where supposedly mohammed (lower caps on purpose) went to heaven, let us demolish it too.  After all, we need a larger parking lot.  Let us kick all the muslims who can not be faithful to the State of Israel.  That way...or we prosper or we die trying...because in this daily and weekly and yearly state of uncertainty is no living at all.

What I propose here could seem preposterous to some...but we could say as the song goes: "We did our way."  And if we start World War III...well, somebody is about to do it...and it is not us...
