MY PERSONAL COMMENT

SAD DAY IN JERUSALEM

WHEN SOLDIERS DIE IN THE LINE OF DUTY....YOU COULD SAY THAT THIS IS LOGICAL. BECAUSE IN THE LINE OF DUTY THINGS LIKE THAT ARE BOUND TO HAPPEN. BUT THE VICTIMS OF TERRORISM ARE NOT SOLDIERS...IN THE RECENT INCIDENT IN TOULOUSE, 3 SCHOOL CHILDREN AND A RABBI DIED IN A SENSELESS (AREN'T THEY ALL) ACT OF TERRORISM.
THE DEAD WERE BURIED IN JERUSALEM'S GIVAT SHAUL CEMETERY. THEY WERE RABBI JONATHAN SANDLER, HIS SONS GABRIEL (3) AND ARIEH (6). ALSO BURIED WAS MYRIAM MONSONEGRO (8). IRONIC...THEY GOT UP KISSED THEIR MOTHERS AND FATHERS GOOD-BYE AND WENT TO SCHOOL LIKE ANY OTHER SCHOOLDAY. WORRIED PERHAPS ABOUT A TEST, OR HOMEWORK. OR ABOUT THE PETTY THINGS LITTLE CHILDREN WORRY ABOUT.
LITTLE THAT THEY KNEW THAT DEATH AWAITED FOR THEM. DEATH AT THE HANDS OF A COWARD ASSASSIN WHO MURDERED THEM IN THE NAME OF ALLAH...THE MERCIFUL...AND NOW I ASK MYSELF A SIMPLE QUESTION...DOES ALLAH THE MERCIFUL APPROVE OF THE MURDER OF INNOCENT CHILDREN? OR IT WAS JUST THE TWISTED MIND OF AN INDIVIDUAL...OUTCAST OF SOCIETY...
AT ANY RATE, THE BIBLE TELLS US NOT TO JUDGE AND OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST TOLD US TO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK...BUT IT HURTS TO SEE THE SMALL COFFINS LAID TO REST...IT BROKE MY HEART AND AMONG MY TEARS...MY PRAYERS WERE PRESENT. THEY ARE NOW WITH OUR LORD...
MAY THE REST IN PEACE AND MAY THE LORD BRING COMFORT TO THEIR SURVIVORS.
LONG LIVE OUR SACRED GROUND OF ISRAEL...PROUD TO BE A JEW...
NEVER AGAIN OR THOUSANDS OF MASADAS...

GONE FOREVER...IN OUR PRAYERS

Netanyahu tells murdered 8-year-old's family, “If they could have, these murderers would have murdered every Jew.”
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday paid condolence calls to the families of the Jewish school shooting in Toulouse. He was accompanied on the visit by French Ambassador to Israel Christophe Bigot. During the meeting with Miriam Monsonego's parents and siblings, the prime minister said, “If they could have, these murderers would have murdered every Jew.”
He added, “To think about little Miriam, who was murdered so brutally, this is awful. Bereavement is like disability; it is painful and debilitating, like a limb of one’s body has been cut off. We all pray that you will find the strength to deal with your pain.” Netanyahu also proposed to Miriam’s father, a school principal, that the school be renamed after the victims.
At his meeting with Ava Sandler, who lost her husband and two children in the shootings, Netanyahu said, “Anywhere a Jew goes, these murderers regard it as occupied territory. The State of Israel was established to be a shield for the Jewish People.” The prime minister told her that the State of Israel would do everything it could to assist her.
The victims, accompanied by French Foreign Minister Alain Juppé, were flown by France to Israel and buried in Jerusalem on Wednesday Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, Interior Minister Eli Yishai, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, dignitaries and a large number of mourners attended the funeral.

ONE TERRORIST LESS TO WORRY ABOUT

French gunman Mohamed Merah, who killed three soldiers and four Jews in France in the last two weeks and who said al-Qaida inspired him to kill seven people in France died from a gunshot wound to the head on Thursday as he scrambled out of a ground-floor window during a gunbattle with elite police commandos.
Merah, a Frenchman of Algerian origin, died in a hail of bullets at the end of a 30-hour standoff with police at his apartment in southern France and after confessing to killing three soldiers, three Jewish children and a rabbi. He was firing frantically at police from a Colt 45 pistol as he climbed through his apartment window onto a verandah and toppled to the ground some 5 feet (1.5 meters) below, in a suburb of the city of Toulouse, according to prosecutors and police.
Two police commandos were injured in the operation - a dramatic climax to a siege which riveted the world after the killings shook France a month before a presidential election.
"At the moment when a video probe was sent into the bathroom, the killer came out of the bathroom, firing with extreme violence," Interior Minister Claude Gueant told reporters at the scene. "In the end, Mohamed Merah jumped from the window with his gun in his hand, continuing to fire. He was found dead on the ground."
Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said Merah had taken refuge in his bathroom, wearing a bullet-proof vest under his traditional black djellaba robe, as elite police blasted his flat through the night with flash grenades.
Police investigators were working to establish whether Merah had worked alone or with accomplices, Molins said, adding that Merah had filmed his three shooting attacks with a camera hung from his body and had indicated that he had posted clips online.
The most disturbing image of the attacks showed him grabbing a young girl at a Jewish school on Monday by the hair and shooting her in the head before escaping on a scooter.
Surrounded by some 300 police, Merah had been silent and motionless for 12 hours when the commandos opted to go inside. Initially, he had fired through his front door at police when they swooped on his flat on Wednesday morning, but later he negotiated with police, promising to give himself up and saying he did not want to die.

SUSPECTED ASSASSIN FOUND

About 300 French police officers continue to surround a house in the Croix-Daurade district of Toulouse, trying to encourage the suspect in the deadly shootings at that the Ozar Hatorah Jewish school to give himself up.
France 24 news identified the man as Mohammed Mura, 24, is a 24-year old Algerian Muslim with self-proclaimed ties to Al-Qaida. Mura said he committed the murders – as well as the shootings of three French paratroopers – to commit “revenge for Palestinian children” and to punish
Special police forces began their raid at 3:30 a.m. (10:30 p.m. ET Tuesday. Three French officers have been injured in the operation, including one who was shot in the knee when Mura fired at a door through which police were attempting to enter, according to French Interior Minister Claude Gueant. The man now said he plans to give himself up in the afternoon. His brother is still at large.
Working up to the 7th hour of the standoff, the suspect showed no signs of surrendering, though he reportedly tossed one firearm out of the window in exchange for a communications device.
Mura is accused of killing seven people in the last 10 days: a rabbi and three children at the Jewish school on Monday, and three soldiers of North African origin who had recently returned from Afghanistan in two earlier incidents.
According to Gueant, the suspect is a French national of Algerian origin who spent considerable time in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Toulouse house in which Mura has barricaded himself is a five-story block of flats and the man is on the ground or first floor. His mother was called to the scene to attempt to persuade him out, but she refused to participate in police efforts, saying she had “little influence on him”. One brother of Mura has been captured.
Investigators told the BBC that the suspect was identified through an email message he sent to his first victim. He had also been looking for a garage in Toulouse to remove a GPS tracking device from his Yamaha scooter after the first two attacks. Police knew a scooter was used in all the attacks.
“He claims to be a Mujahideen and to belong to al-Qaeda,” Gueant said. “He wanted revenge for the Palestinian children and he also wanted to take revenge on the French army because of its foreign interventions.”
According to Agence France-Presse, a French secret service source said the suspect had been “in the sights” of France’s intelligence agency after the first two attacks, when police were able to provide “crucial evidence”.

MASSACRE AT TOULOUSE

MASSACRE AT TOULOUSE

Ozar HaTorah: A Passion for Learning
2012 Ozar Hatorah shooting
The 2012 Ozar Hatorah Toulouse shooting occurred on 19 March 2012 at the Ozar Hatorah Jewish day school in Toulouse, a city located at around 600Kms southwest of Paris. At least four people were killed, including three children, when a gunman riding on a motorcycle opened fire on a drop-off point for students and staff. The shooting occurred at 8:00am when the shooter got off his scooter and opened fire. It is suspected that two weapons were used in the attack. It is suspected that the shooting is related to other shootings in the region. At least 15 shots were fired.
The Ozar Hatorah school in Toulouse is part of a national chain of at least twenty Jewish schools throughout France, educating children of primarily Sephardic, Middle Eastern and North African descent.
The shooting comes a week after two other shooting attacks in the area against uniformed paratroopers in Toulouse and Montauban. Four paratroopers were killed, two of them Muslim, and all of them either North African or Caribbean in origin.
The victims were visiting school teacher Rabbi Yonatan Sandler and his sons Aryeh and Gavriel from the Kiryat HaYovel neighborhood of Jerusalem, Israel, and eight-year-old Miriam Monsonego, the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Monsonego, the school principal. Three other children aged 6-8 were critically injured and are fighting for their lives in the local hospital.
The President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, called the attack a 'national tragedy' and declared that 'hate cannot win', 'the Republic is much stronger'. Sarkozy called for a minute of silence in all schools the next day.
And he added, And of course our thoughts are with these families that are shattered -- a mother who has lost her husband and her two children the same day, the director of the school saw his little girl die before his eyes,
A man opened fire on people waiting at a school drop-off point and then fled, according to observers at the scene. A local French journalist told CNN that the attacker got close enough to shoot his victims in the head. Video surveillance cameras show a man in a helmet traveling on a black scooter. Some reports indicate the shooter may have had tattoos on his face. A witness said: "He shot at everything he had in front of him, children and adults," he said. "The children were chased inside the school."
The city of Toulouse is on “lockdown” according to France 24 news, with a team of 50-60 police officers and counter-terror specialists scouring the city for the shooter. French President Nicholas Sarkozy, Interior Minister Claude Guéant, and Education Minister Luc Chatel are expected to arrive in Toulouse shortly to monitor the situation. Jewish institutions throughout the country are being afforded additional security by law enforcement.
Chief Rabbi of France Gilles Bernheim, issued a statment, saying: ‘I am horrified by what happened outside a Jewish school in Toulouse today. It has bruised my body and my soul. I am deeply upset and am heading to Toulouse.’
A correspondent at the scene for BFM said that the Police see a connection between the three incidents, citing the same weapon – 9mm gun – and black scooter used in all three attacks.

THE OZAR HATORAH ORG.

OZAR HATORAH
Ozar Hatorah (Hebrew: אוצר התורה, "treasure of Torah") is an organization for Orthodox Jewish education founded in 1945. Originally operating in Israel, it later focused on religious Jewish education in Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as on the Sephardi communities in France, establishing schools, teaching both religious and secular subjects. The organization is financed by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, local communities, and private individuals. In 1945, Isaac Shalom from New York City together with Joseph Shamah of Jerusalem and Ezra Teubal of Buenos Aires, concerned about what they saw as Jewish spiritual decline and intellectual impoverishment, founded Ozar Hatorah as a non-profit organization in Jerusalem under the chairmanship of Joseph Shamah. The organization began its work with an investigation of Jewish communities in several Arab countries and Palestine, with the aim of providing good teaching, food, and medical care.
In this truncated Jewish world, attention focused on the Sephardic communities of North Africa and the Middle East. At the time, 1940’s and 1950’s, there were about one million Jews living in from Morocco on the Atlantic to Iran in the Persian Gulf. These were ancient communities, heirs to a glorious tradition. The golden days of Sephardic culture took place when Arab civilization was in the ascendant. The decline of that civilization took its toll on the Jewish communities living in its midst. By the middle of the 20th century these communities were stagnating in a cultural and economic backwater
In 1940, Isaac Shalom formed the committee to save these "Forgotten Million." Five years later, the first official committee for Ozar Hatorah was set up in Jerusalem under the chairmanship of Mr. Joseph Shamah.

The concept of Ozar Hatorah began to emerge in the aftermath of the Holocaust, as the full dimensions of that unspeakable horror became known to the Jewish people and their spiritual leaders. Fully one third of world Jewry was wiped out, and, with them, the great centers of Jewish learning in Eastern Europe which had been nurtured for many centuries. Many of the brightest stars in the firmament of Jewish culture were forever extinguished.

It was in one of their centers for learning in Toulouse, France where a deadly terrible shooting took place on March 19, 2012

"Hatikvah" (The Hope)

"Hatikvah" (The Hope)
Is the national anthem of Israel. The anthem was written by Naphtali Herz Imber, a secular Galician Jew from Zolochiv (today in Lviv Oblast),who moved to the Land of Israel in the early 1880s. The anthem's theme revolves around the nearly 2000-year-old hope of the Jewish people to be a free and sovereign people in the Land of Israel. The text of Hatikvah was written by the Galician Jewish poet Naphtali Herz Imber in Zolochiv in 1878 as a nine-stanza poem named Tikvateynu (lit. "Our Hope").
In this poem Imber puts into words his thoughts and feelings in the wake of the establishment of Petah Tikva, one of the first Jewish settlements in Ottoman Palestine. Published in Imber's first book, Barkai (lit. "Morning Star"), the poem was subsequently adopted as the anthem of Hovevei Zion and later of the Zionist Movement at the First Zionist Congress in 1897. The text was later revised by the settlers of Rishon LeZion, subsequently undergoing a number of other changes.
A former member of the Sonderkommando reports that the song was spontaneously sung by Czech Jews in the entryway to the Auschwitz-Birkenau gas chamber in 1944. While singing they were beaten by Waffen-SS guards.
When the State of Israel was established in 1948, Hatikvah was unofficially proclaimed the national anthem. However, it did not officially become the national anthem until November 2004, when it was sanctioned by the Knesset in an amendment to the Flag and Coat-of-Arms Law.

Netanyahu and the US Congress 2012

Citing historical precedents in which the US and Israel did not see eye-to-eye and Israel acted according to its own perception of its interests, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu noted that David Ben-Gurion declared independence against the advice of the US; Levi Eshkol launched a preemptive attack in 1967, against Washington’s counsel; and Menachem Begin decided to bomb the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981 despite US opposition.

The US Congress will always stand by Israel, and the US Congress will never allow Israel to stand alone,” House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Tuesday, standing alongside Netanyahu and the House leadership from both parties. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-California) echoed his comments Netanyahu thanked the congressional leaders for their support and “remarkable solidarity” when it came to Israel.

Netanyahu delivered a passionate speech to some 13,000 delegates at the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference, intoning the “Never Again” mantra and pledging that “as prime minister of Israel, I will never let my people live in the shadow of annihilation.” The Jewish people are also different. Today we have a state of our own. The purpose of the Jewish state is to secure the Jewish future. That is why Israel must always have the ability to defend itself, by itself, against any threat.”

Netanyahu reiterated what he had said before meeting Obama: “We must always remain the masters of our fate.”

Joint Exercises Israeli Air Force and Italian and Polish Air Forces

Polish Air Force, IAF hold joint training in Negev
Exercise is the first joint maneuver between the two countries; commander of Polish Air Force arrives to oversee the drill. Polish fighter jets arrived in Israel this week for joint training with the Israel Air Force in the Negev. The Polish dispatched a number of F-16 fighter jets which have been holding maneuvers alongside IAF F-16 and F-15s. The maneuvers are based in the Uvda Air Force Base near Eilat. "We learn from one another and it helps us learn from the Poles, how they fly and their doctrines," a senior IAF officer said Wednesday. Gen. Broni Lech Majewski, commander of the Polish Air Force, arrived in Israel on Monday to oversee the drill. This is the first time that the Israel and Polish air forces are holding joint maneuvers. Israeli F-15s flew in Poland in 2003 when a trio of aircraft flew over Auschwitz.

IAF completes major drill in Italy amid Iran attack rumors
The Israeli Air Force completed a large drill over the Italian island of Sardinia in recent days. Details of the exercise were released on Wednesday, in the shadow of intensive and controversial media reports over a possible Israeli attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities.Lt.-Col. Y., commander of the 117th Squadron of F-16 fighter jets that took part in the simulation, said his pilots flew over the sea, west of Italy, and carried out maneuvers together with the Italian Air Force. “We simulated a common enemy. The cooperation between us and the Italians was very good,” the pilot said. The 14 Israeli jets that took part in the drill flew in an area “encompassing 800 kilometers.” The drill was planned six months in advance, and ended last week. Pilots flew in a variety of formations and practiced striking simulated targets.

THE MONTHS OF THE JEWISH YEAR - החודשים בלוח השנה היהודי

THE MONTHS OF THE JEWISH YEAR
החודשים בלוח השנה היהודי
The Jewish calendar is based on three astronomical phenomena: the rotation of the Earth about its axis (a day); the revolution of the moon about the Earth (a month); and the revolution of the Earth about the sun (a year). These three phenomena are independent of each other, so there is no direct correlation between them. On average, the moon revolves around the Earth in about 29½ days. The Earth revolves around the sun in about 365¼ days, that is, about 12.4 lunar months.
The Jewish calendar has the following months:

NEVER AGAIN !!!

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu emerged from his meeting with US President Barack Obama Monday saying that Israel must have the ability always to defend itself, by itself, against any threat,” Netanyahu said sitting alongside Obama before their closed-door consultations. “Israel has the right, the sovereign right, to make its own decisions and if necessary, defend itself, by itself.”
Netanyahu said that Israel’s very purpose was to restore to the Jewish people control over their destiny and that he as prime minister would “ensure that Israel remains the master of its fate.”
“Our commitment to the security of Israel is rock solid,” Obama said, echoing his remarks from his address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Sunday night. “The United States will always be at Israel’s back when it comes to Israel’s security.”

THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

In MEMORIAM - 65 YEARS LATER

Irena Sendler (née Irena Sendlerowa)(Poland; 15 Feb 1910 – 12 May 2008) was a Polish Catholic social worker who served in the Polish Underground and the Żegota resistance organization in German-occupied Warsaw during World War II. Assisted by some two dozen other Żegota members, Sendler saved 2500 Jewish children by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto, providing them with false documents, and sheltering them in individual and group children's homes outside the Ghetto.
During the German occupation of Poland, Sendler lived in Warsaw (prior to that, she had lived in Otwock and Tarczyn while working for urban Social Welfare departments). As early as 1939, when the Germans invaded Poland, she began aiding Jews. She and her helpers created over 3,000 false documents to help Jewish families, prior to joining the organized Żegota resistance and the children's division. Helping Jews was very risky—in German-occupied Poland, all household members risked death if they were found to be hiding Jews, a more severe punishment than in other occupied European countries.
She and her co-workers organized the smuggling of Jewish children out of the Ghetto. Under the pretext of conducting inspections of sanitary conditions during a typhus outbreak, Sendler and her co-workers visited the Ghetto and smuggled out babies and small children in ambulances and trams, sometimes disguising them as packages. She also used the old courthouse at the edge of the Warsaw Ghetto (still standing) as one of the main routes for smuggling out children.
The children were placed with Polish families, the Warsaw orphanage of the Sisters of the Family of Mary, or Roman Catholic convents
In 1943, Sendler was arrested by the Gestapo, severely tortured, and sentenced to death. Żegota saved her by bribing German guards on the way to her execution. She was listed on public bulletin boards as among those executed. For the remainder of the war, she lived in hiding, but continued her work for the Jewish children. After the war, she and her co-workers gathered together all of their records with the names and locations of the hidden Jewish children and gave them to their Zegota colleague Adolf Berman and his employees at the Central Committee of Polish Jews. However, almost all of their parents had been killed at the Treblinka extermination camp or had otherwise gone missing.
In 1965, Sendler was recognized by Yad Vashem as one of the Righteous among the Nations. She also was awarded the Commander's Cross by the Israeli Institute. Only in that year did the Polish communist government allow her to travel abroad, to receive the award in Israel. In 2003, Pope John Paul II sent Sendler a personal letter praising her wartime efforts.
Irena Sendler died in Warsaw on May 12, 2008.
In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected. Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming which later on proved to be all wrong.
Later another politician, Barack Hussein Obama, won for his work as a community organizer for ACORN…????
It is now more than 65 years since the Second World War in Europe ended. This article is being published as an homage to Irena and in the memory of the six million Jews, almost two million Gypsies, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated!
