This 10-minute video of the ascent to the Temple Mount of Rabbi Yehudah Glick and 50 Jewish pilgrims on the eve of Shavuot 2014 might help answer this question from a different perspective than that of the politicians, the police, the Palestinians, the Jordanians, or even the Israeli court system. I wonder if God might have answered the question, “Who may ascend?” through His intervention in the life of Rabbi Yehudah Glick.
Jerusalem Inspiration
In today's verse, the Holy Ark is brought from the City of David to the holiest place on Earth, the Holy of Holies in the Holy Temple. While the entire Temple Mount is endowed with a high level of holiness, the highest level is found in the Holy of Holies, the innermost room of Temple. The only person ever allowed to enter is the High Priest, and even then only on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, as part of the special order of the day. The Ark of the Covenant is placed there upon the “Foundation Stone,” which is, according to the Sages of the Talmud, where the world's creation began. It is the same location where Abraham was willing to sacrifice Isaac (Genesis 22), and the holy site where one day the Holy Temple will again stand. Want to learn more about Jerusalem and the Holy Temple that stood there? Now, exclusively through 'Root Source', Yehuda Glick, Temple Mount activist and miraculous survivor of an assassination attempt, is conducting three lectures covering the Biblical sources for the building of the Temple and an in depth discussion of the Temple vessels.
