While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama were discussing various issues, the Palestinians turned to the UN Security Council and submitted a draft resolution that will force Israel to return to the 1967 borders by November 2016.

According to the AP news agency report, this step follows P.A.Chairman Abu Mazen's statement in the UN General Assembly, where he said that he will turn to the Security Council in order to set a deadline for Israel's withdrawal and in order to establish basic principles that will guide future talks with Israel.

The resolution will ratify the UN Security Council's past decision to help progress a solution that will end "Israel's occupation promptly and will realize the two states vision and the establishment of a sovereign and democratic Palestinian state, living alongside Israel, peacefully, and securely along the 1967 borders".
