BREAKING NEWS: Rockets Fired into Northern Israel from Syria‏

IDF ARTILLERY RETURNING THE VISIT

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:9)

Air raid sirens sounded in the northern Golan Heights on Tuesday afternoon as two rockets fired from southern Syria landed inside Israel.
The IDF confirmed the attack, saying that two rounds struck the Golan Heights. IDF Spokesperson Lt. Col. Peter Lerner wrote on Twitter, “following rockets striking the Golan Heights, IDF responded with artillery towards the positions that launched the attack.” Some 20 artillery shells were fired into southern Syria.
Soldiers were ordered to evacuate some 1,000 civilians from the nearby Mount Hermon ski slopes. Yaakov Shochat, an employee at the Mount Hermon site, told NRG that “according to IDF instructions we are evacuating everyone, quietly and peacefully. There is no stress here, and we don’t know anything – we only received instructions from the IDF. There are approximately 1,000 people in the Hermon now.”
Initial reports state that one rocket exploded in an open area near Kibbutz El-Rom, located near the border with Syria. No injuries or damages have been reported on the Israeli side.

Heightened security procedures were immediately activated in Israel’s northern region following the attack. Hezbollah affiliated Al-Manar TV reported Israeli warplanes circling over the Israel-Syria border near the Quneitra region.
The incident took place nine days after a reported Israeli airstrike in the Syrian side of the Golan Heights that an Iranian general, a Hezbollah commander and 10 others.
Hezbollah leaders vowed revenge for the airstrike and threatened retaliation. In wake of the successful strike, which Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement, troops along the border were ordered on high alert.
At least three Iron Dome missile defense batteries were deployed to the north, near the city of Haifa, as an extra precaution for any possible attacks.

Life has returned to normal after artillery fire was exchanged on the Syrian border following two rockets launched by Hezbollah landing in northern Israel on Tuesday. This was a response to the assassination of senior Hezbollah officials in Syria. Luckily, the rockets landed outside of northern villages and no injury or damage was caused. Residents of the area were instructed to enter the bomb shelters. The Hermon visitor's site was temporarily closed and children were evacuated from local schools. The IDF has been preparing for possible attacks on the northern border for the last two weeks. "Israel sees this as a very serious action," said PM Netanyahu. "If you play with fire, you will receive fire."

CREW OF MERKAVA IV
Hezbollah announced that this would not be the last of the attacks. Sheik Naim Kassem, deputy director of the Hezbollah stated, "Hezbollah will continue its resistance. It will arm itself and improve its capabilities. It will be prepared for all future battles."

The US congress has postponed voting on a bill to increase sanctions against Iran. The delay will allow negotiations to continue with Iran regarding nuclear capabilities. Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to speak in Congress before the proposed vote and close to Israeli elections.

Meanwhile, in Poland, World leaders and Holocaust survivors gathered at the site of the former death camp, Auschwitz to mark 70 years since its liberation. The Israeli delegation was led by Energy and Water Minister Sylvan Shalom. One survivor, Moshe, declared, "I have defeated the Nazis in returning here today." Hava was one of the twins experimented on by Dr. Mengele. "I returned to find her grave. I did not find it, but I did find the graves of my parents." Other survivors and Ron Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, had one message, "World silence led to Auschwitz. Do not let this happen again."

TIME FOR WAR...TIME FOR PRAYER
Two missiles exploded in the northern Golan Heights Tuesday afternoon, and the IDF has returned artillery fire into Syrian territory.  The army is trying to determine where the missiles landed. It is not known if the missiles were misfired or were aimed at Israel. Unconfirmed reports said four rockets were launched at Israel.  Sirens sounded to warn residents, who rushed to bomb shelters.
The IDF ordered an immediate closure of the Hermon ski area, and approximately 1,000 visitors are evacuating.  The IDF has deployed the Iron Dome system in the area because of extreme threats from Hezbollah to attack the north. The army also has placed cement barriers along roads near the Lebanese border following fears of missile attacks at passing cars.  Soldiers spotted suspicious figures approaching the border fence two days ago, Ground units were sent into actions and roads were closed until the security alert was lifted.
