Hundreds of Israelis are expected to take part in the annual march organized by the “Aviv for Holocaust Survivors” NGO, intended to raise awareness for the rights of Holocaust survivors and call on their relatives to make effort in order to help them claim all the rights and benefits they are entitled to.  “Around 180,000 Holocaust survivors reside in Israel, a quarter of which still live in poverty,” stated attorney Aviva Silberman, founder and CEO of “Aviv for Holocaust Survivors”. According to data collected by the NGO, “half of the survivors living today in Israel are not aware of the entirety of rights and benefits they are entitled to, since these are spread across several bodies and are even updated from time to time.” On Thursday morning at 10:00, a two-minute air raid siren will sound throughout the country, followed by a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the foot of the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes at Yad Vashem.
