In Secret Meeting, Obama Meets with Muslim Leaders with Ties to Terror
US President Barack Obama secretly met two weeks ago with leaders who have disturbingly close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, the Clarion Project reported. The meeting took place between Islamic leaders and various members of the White House administration who gathered to draft responses to incidents that Muslims consider offensive. White House officials initially refused to publicize the list of Islamic leaders who met with the president and other members of the administration including Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice and Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.
Among the guests who visited with the president was Azhar Azeez, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Azeez has deep connections to the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, as does his society. According to declassified FBI document, the ISNA was categorized as a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood as early as 1987. Past leaders of ISNA include, Abdurrahman Alamoudi, who was convicted on terrorism related charges in 2004 In 2007, ISNA was designated as an unindicted co-conspirator in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, a charity shut down by the US government for financing Hamas. The US Departmentof Justice listed ISNA as one of the “individuals/entities who are and/or were members of the US Muslim Brotherhood.”

Another member present at the meeting was Hoda Elshishtawy of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), which, similarly to the ISNA, was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood and has openly called for Israel to be added to a list of states that sponsor terror. MPAC has also often publicly endorsed the rejection of the designation of Hezbollah and Hamas as terrorist organizations by the US. It is noteworthy to add that many, if not most of, the participants at the meeting are considered to be “moderate Muslims” by the US administration, some of them even sitting on staff of the Department for Homeland Security. One such person is Imam Mohamed Magid of the ADAMS Mosque in Sterling, Virginia. In March 2002, federal agents raided the offices of many Northern Virginia-based Muslim organizations, including ADAMS, on suspicion that they were providing material support to terrorists.
While the mosque and Magid are suspected of having ties to terrorism, those suspicions have been cast aside in favor of a more close knit relationship between the Obama administration and Magid. Magid has been hailed as a moderate and was appointed to serve on the Department of Homeland Security’s Countering Violent Extremism Working Group in 2011 by Obama. In this position, Magid was authorized to train and advise personnel affiliated with the FBI and other federal agencies and soon became a regular visitor to the White House. He is also a former president of the ISNA.
The report also revealed that “Magid signed a letter in September 2014 alongside other Islamist leaders which condemned the Islamic State while asserting the need for an Islamic Caliphate and supporting the hudud punishments of sharia law, which include amputation, flogging and the execution of apostates. The letter said that a person could only be regarded as an apostate if the person ‘openly declares disbelief.’”
White House staff said that Obama reiterated at the meeting “his administration’s commitment to safeguarding civil rights through hate crimes prosecutions and civil enforcement actions,” The Washington Times reported. The president’s meeting with members of the Muslim community who have known ties to terror raised questions amongst political observers as to what the president is truly planning and why men who have such strong ties to terror are given access to the leader of the free world.
