Personal Wishes for a Happy Purim!‏

Personal Wishes for a Happy Purim!‏

Dear Friends,

It is now Purim in the Land of Israel, and I wish you were here with me!

My kids look adorable in their spiderman, princess and turtle costumes (see below) and we just returned from Synagogue to listen to the reading of the Book of Esther.

After God’s miraculous deliverance of the Jewish people from the threat of annihilation, tragedy turns to joy and the Megillah recounts, “And the month which had been turned around for them from sorrow to gladness...to observe them as days of...sending delicacies to one another and gifts to the poor.” (Esther 9:22)

Jewish tradition requires us to send gifts to the poor and treats to our friends on Purim and I’d like to invite you to participate in these two beloved customs!

Please join me as I will personally deliver food baskets to poor Israeli families and IDF Soldiers tomorrow »

The Book of Esther teaches us that our actions matter. Let us pray that through our generosity, God will bless us all so that our sorrow turns into gladness and the threats facing Israel will be turned around once more.

May our prayers be heard this Purim and may God perform great miracles for Israel, saving us from our enemies and blessing all of us with eternal joy.

Happy Purim!

Rabbi Tuly Weisz
