2 Islamic Holidays to Close NYC Public Schools Next Year

New York City public schools will close next year for two Muslim holidays – Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.  The two Islamic celebrations were officially designated as public school holidays by the New York State Department of Education this week.  Mayor Bill DeBlasio made the announcement Wednesday (March 4) at a news conference, saying it was “only fair.”  Children from a community that is an “integral part of the city” should be able to celebrate their holidays as do others in New York, DeBlasio said.

Mayor de Blasio: Muslim Holidays Now Recognized by NYC Public Schools

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced today that New York City public schools will now recognize Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, the two most important Muslim holidays, and that all students will get those days off school.

de Blasio made the announcement in a tweet this morning, calling it a decision “that respects the diversity of our city”. According to the New York Times, this fulfills a campaign promise de Blasio made in 2012. The decision was widely celebrated by the city’s Muslim community,

Considering that over 10% of all New York City public school students are Muslim, a day off makes sense to the numerous politicians and activists who supported the decision — a decision they’ve been asking the City to make since the Bloomberg administration. While the City Council voted to add the holidays to the school calendar in 2008, Michael Bloomberg vetoed the measure, saying: “When you have a city as diverse as we do, with virtually every religion known to man practiced, if we closed school for every single day there wouldn’t be any school.”

Eid al-Adha is one of the most holy days in the Muslim calendar, celebrating the prophet Abraham’s devotion to God and his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, before God intervened. Eid al-Fitr comes at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, and, at the risk of sounding like a secret Muslim, it’s a pretty fun holiday. (Since the latter falls in the summer, the city will celebrate it as a summer school holiday.)

Christian and Jewish holidays have long been recognized by NYC public schools, but the city’s recently pushed to add more holidays: the Asian Lunar New Year was recently declared a school holiday, and there’s intense debate surrounding the Hindu holiday of Diwali, which is also a super fun holiday.

Now please clean the ice off the streets, de Blasio.

SOME COMMENTS FROM THE INTERNET

I bet the holidays will be listed by name on the school calendar as the reason for the school being closed. However, Christmas will be referred to as "winter break" and Easter is referred to as "Spring Break."  Safe bet:  While the exact name of every Muslim holiday will appear on the school holiday calendars, the holiday falling on December 25th will be officially observed as "December 25th".

Just because De Blasio likes Muslims doesn't mean everyone does. For example, some people like pigs where as some people like Muslims, don't.

In America, immigrants have always assimilated into our culture. Hence the term "melting pot". In our new leftist Ameritopia, we must assimilate into their cultures.  We are witnessing the dis-uniting of America that JFK advisor Arthur Schlesinger Jr. warned about. The left is deliberately Balkanizing us. "Fundamental transformation".

Do you think De Blasio woke up one day and thought, "I'm going to Announce Addition of Muslim Holidays To NYC Public Schools Calendar?" NO he did not.  Pressure from CAIR and Muslim Obama, pure and simple. Add this to COmmon Core component of teaching 7thgraders about Islam-Allah-Mohammed-OneTrueGod!!!!! Wake up people

We need to KICK all MUSLIMS OUT of America…In the near future there will be WAR in the streets of America…As Rev. Franklin Graham said: "The STORM is COMING...'  If Muslim's are BRAZEN in small groups, what will happen when they become a majority in any given city in America.  The only problem is they breed like rabbits. One day they will have the votes to rule.

Soros and the progressives want a one world government, but they don't seem to understand that they will never be able to control the Muslims. They do seem to have caught on to the idea that you can buy their cooperation for a while.  The good thing is they learned about toilet paper when they left their homeland. It helped advance their culture by hundreds of years.....LOL...LOL...LOL...
