“When ‘security officials’ point an accusing finger at the public representatives who lawfully take action to preserve Israel’s sovereignty in the heart of its capital – the forsaken Temple Mount – they reward terror and ensure its escalation,” said MK Moshe Feiglin. “According to the logic of the anonymous officials, Israel’s first PM Ben-Gurion was a pyromaniac when he declared Israeli independence and triggered an escalation of violence.”
“An Israeli retreat from its sovereignty on the Temple Mount will not stop at the gates of the Mount,” Feiglin continued. “Israeli society must decide if it is willing to pay the price of preserving its sovereignty on the Temple Mount and in our entire Land.”
“The Temple Mount front is not the cause of the war; it is the place where the war is currently being conducted. The weakness displayed by the ‘security officials’ on the Temple Mount is bringing the war front to the entire country,” Feiglin concluded.
Moshe Feiglin: Fear, not Sovereignty, Breeds Violence
The fear expressed by the leftist MKs toward my demand to actualize Israeli sovereignty on the Temple Mount is real. Many feel fear because they believe that the Temple Mount is a powder keg. But just the opposite is true. The Temple Mount (and the entire Land of Israel) are a powder keg because of our fear.
What is the source of this fear?
The fear stems from our loss of confidence in the justice of our cause. Those who do not believe that the Temple Mount – and essentially the entire Land of Israel – are ours, those who feel that they are guests here – are constantly gripped by fear. It is this fear that invites violence. When the Oslo Accords were signed, the accepted axiom was that the violence was fueled by despair. “If we give our enemies ‘hope’, they will lose their motivation for violence,” was the mantra of that period. Reality, of course, proved otherwise; the Oslo Accords plunged us into a horrific cycle of blood and tears. Despair does not cause terror: Hope does: The hope for the destruction of the State of Israel. When Israel strongly re-affirms its sovereignty – especially on the Temple Mount – it closes the window of hope for the destruction of our State. In the short term, we will bear the brunt of threats of violence. But if we remain firm, we will once again enjoy the fruits of our determination, as we did when we opened the Western Wall Tunnels and returned to the City of David despite Arab violence. The same will hold true for any future tests. Our determination will bring us both sovereignty and peace.
Urgent Call to Action!
For the first time since the Temple Mount was liberated more than 40 years ago, the Knesset will deliberate on the state of Israel’s sovereignty on the Mount: the most holy and important place to the Jewish Nation. The special Knesset session, requested by Moshe Feiglin, will take place this Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 25th.
It is imperative that all the nationalist MKs attend this historic Knesset deliberation and vote for the proposed resolution declaring that Israel is the sovereign on the Temple Mount. The MKs are under tremendous pressure not to attend. They need all the support and encouragement they can get. Please send emails (English is fine) to the nationalist MKs. Click here for the list of emails, send your emails to the MKs and get the word out on your social media. The success of this historic opportunity is in our hands!
Here are two sample letters that our readers have already sent, to get your creative juices flowing:
Dear Honorable Prime Minister Netanyahu and Knesset Members,
Can You imagine Muslims relinquishing their sovereignty over their holiest site- Kaabeh in Mecca, or Christians over Rome? They would lose any respect and credibility for all they stand for.
Please stop the myopic appeasement.
and/or
Honorable PM Netanyahu and Knesset Members,
On Tuesday, you will have a rare opportunity to rectify an historic injustice and restore Israeli sovereignty to the Temple Mount. With your vote, we can rescusitate the beating heart of the Nation and Land of Israel. Please do not allow short-term considerations to cloud the greatness of the hour.
With thanks and anticipation to see you voting in favor,
Survey: 75% of Israelis Want Israeli Sovereignty on Temple Mount
Despite the mini-riot organized by the Jordanian wakf this morning on the Temple Mount as a preface to the Knesset session on Israeli sovereignty there scheduled for early evening, Israelis are not backing off. In a survey taken on the Avri Gilad morning show, the hosts asked the viewing audience if they think Israel should actualize its sovereignty on the Temple Mount. The results of the survey are as follows:
50%: Jews must be allowed to pray on the Temple Mount
25%: The Arabs must be removed from the Temple Mount
17%: No sovereignty
6%: The Temple Mount belongs to the Arabs.
25%: The Arabs must be removed from the Temple Mount
17%: No sovereignty
6%: The Temple Mount belongs to the Arabs.
Clearly, the Jewish public in Israel wants to return to the Temple Mount. Please urgently email the MKs to reiterate that you expect them to participate in the Knesset session this evening and to vote for Israeli sovereignty on the Temple Mount.
