FROM HIALEAH TO ISRAEL AND ALL THE DIASPORA
SHABBAT SHALOM !!!!

Obama said he has asked
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to prepare options for confronting Islamic State and said Secretary of State John Kerry would travel to the region to help
create an anti-Islamic State coalition. Obama's strategy for Islamic
State is not limited to military action. It includes supporting moderate Sunni
rebels in Syria and encouraging a unity government in Baghdad between Shi'ites
and Sunnis, who have engaged in sectarian battles. "My priority at this
point is to make sure that the gains that ISIL (Islamic State) made in Iraq are
rolled back and that Iraq has the opportunity to govern itself effectively and
secure itself," he said. Obama said the options he had
requested from military planners at the Pentagon focused primarily on making
certain that Islamic State is "not overrunning Iraq." Congressional concerns over
potential US military strikes in Syria have increased.

I have spent the past few weeks
speaking in many different Jewish communities in the USA. So far, I have
addressed over 2,000 people. At every one of my presentations I am asked a
simple, three-worded question: “What is next for ISRAEL?” My answer is direct and honest: Until Israel elects a government that
bases its actions on authentic Jewish values, our beloved homeland will
continue to be pounded by missiles, rockets, terror-tunnels, suicide bombers
and everything else the enemy can throw our way. People who know me are often surprised at
this answer since I generally am very optimistic about Israel’s future. They
therefore tend to ask me again, “What will be?” When that happens, I switch to
my optimistic, positive self and answer that I am positive that what I said is
true, yet optimistic that the new leadership we need is on its way!
So, what’s the answer? Do we
run for our lives? No – heaven forbid! First we must realize how serious the
problem is. I am not exaggerating or trying to depress anyone. I am merely
stating a fact that the enemy is growing and we are sleeping. The second point
is to find a solution, and here is where I return to my jovial, positive self
since the solution is already here – we just need to embrace it and help it become
a realit
Hamas’
supreme leader Khaled Mashaal dashed any hopes of long-term peace with Israel
in a speech in Qatar on Thursday in which he shot from the hip at Israel and
also at his terrorist organization’s new partner, the rival Fatah movement
headed by Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas. His lengthy speech in Qatar, which has
financed Hamas terror and which fought Egyptian cease-fire proposals, followed
by one day a “victory” speech by Ismail Haniyeh, the senior Hamas political
leader in Gaza. Mashaal’s silence while Haniyeh accepted the cease-fire is a
clear sign of a fierce power struggle between Hamas in Gaza and between Mashaal
and Qatar, which holds the purse strings.
Mashaal
also claimed victory, with lies that Hamas missiles hit the Ben Gurion Airport,
which is not true, and that more than 5 million Israelis hid in bomb shelters,
a gross exaggeration. However, there is no doubt that Hamas succeeded in
scaring the daylight out of millions of Israelis, interrupting a few flights
and generally turning half of Israel into sitting ducks. And this won’t be the last time, regardless
of a cease-fire, he warned. “Whatever
happened [in Gaza] is not the end to this story, and this is not the last
operation to free Palestine. It was an important stop on the way to victory,”
Mashaal declared. His speech threw every
obstacle possible on the road to negotiations with Israel. The talks are
supposed to begin in a month, leaving open the possibility, or probability,
that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is carrying on secret negotiations that
will be formalized in 30 days.
A
country or not, Gaza still has at least 2,000 rockets as well as anti-tank
rockets and presumably anti-aircraft missiles. It still has rocket factories,
one of which was filmed in production by Hamas during one of the failed
cease-fires during the war. Netanyahu
had demanded that any halt in violence would be accompanied by disarming Hamas,
but this week’s cease-fire only left the issue to be put on the negotiating
table, along with Hamas’s demands for a deep-sea port and an airport.
Mashaal’s
aim is the same as Mashaal, but his strategy is different When Mashaal says
that there will be
Although an open-ended cease-fire
is in force with Gaza, two people were wounded in northern Israel on Wednesday
in the course of three shelling attacks from Syria. At around 10 pm, Syrian forces fired two
mortar shells from across the Golan Heights, both exploding in open areas north
of the Quneitra valley. It was the third attack in a single day, the most
intensive shelling from Syria in months. No one was physically injured and no
property damage was reported in the attack. Earlier in the evening, a
52-year-old kosher supervisor at a winery on the Golan Heights was lightly
wounded by Syrian tank fire aimed at an Israeli kibbutz along the border. The
victim was evacuated to Ziv Medical Center in Tzfat (Safed). A local vineyard
and a gas pipeline were both damaged in the attack.
Hours earlier, in the morning,
an IDF officer was moderately wounded and two Israeli vehicles were damaged in
a similar attack. A barrage of Syrian mortar shells was fired from across the
border – again, from the Quneitra area.
The officer, who sustained shrapnel wounds to the chest, was airlifted to
Rambam Medical Center. The IDF attacked
two Syrian positions in response to the mortar fire. IDF officials said
Jerusalem holds the Syrian army responsible for maintaining order on the Syrian
side of the border. Originally security
sources said the attacks were due to “errant fire” due to the conflict taking
place between government troops and opposition forces in Syria. Fierce fighting is reportedly taking place
between the forces fighting on behalf of President Bashar al-Assad, and rebel
fighters. It is not known which opposition forces are involved in this battle,
nor whether some or all of the factions have banded together to fight Assad’s
army. The Syrian side of the Quneitra
crossing has fallen into rebel hands, only 200 meters (219 yards) from the
border with Israel. But whose?
