The world has remained mostly silent
as Hamas has fired their missiles and hidden its arsenals in schools,
playgrounds, hospitals and family homes. And it has proven indifferent to the
public call on the part of Hamas leaders for Palestinian children to actively
use “their chests and bodies” as protective shields for Hamas rockets. Hamas has continually squandered the
opportunity to build a thriving Palestinian society. Instead, it has only
bombs, tunnels and rockets to show for the billions funneled to it in
international aid and the repeated efforts on the part of Israel to negotiate a
peaceful resolution.
This is Israel’s third war against Hamas
since its total withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, when Israel dismantled its
settlements and removed all vestiges of its presence. Should Hamas prevail, millions may die for no
other reason than they are Jewish. And untold numbers of Palestinian children
will be offered up by the twisted terrorists in the most evil form of
modern-day human sacrifice.
History always repeats itself…and
human beings tend to repeat themselves regardless of time and
circumstances. We are commemorating the
centennial of World War One, Gaza was a battleground then. Before that, Napoleon was around there…and on
and on…and things have not changed much. Just keep on reading and you will see what I
mean…
Hamas warns residents of South: 'Don't
return home, unless Israel meets our demands' By KHALED ABU TOAMEH 08/07/2014 17:18
Thousands of
Palestinians participate in pro-Hamas rallies across Gaza, call on groups to
launch rocket attacks. Hamas continued Thursday to issue threats to
resume attacks on Israel unless its demands for a long-term cease-fire are met. The threats came as thousands of
Palestinians participated in pro-Hamas rallies in the Gaza Strip. The rallies began after noon prayers when
thousands of Palestinians took to the streets chanting slogans in support of
Hamas. Carrying Hamas’s green flags, the demonstrators also called on the
Palestinian groups to launch rockets at Tel Aviv. Hamas also called for similar rallies in
the West Bank following Friday prayers.
Hamas spokesman Mushir al-Masri said in a speech at one of the
rallies that the Palestinian “resistance” groups lost only a small portion of
their military arsenal during Operation Protection Edge. “The resistance will always be on the
side of the people,” he said. “Our demands are just, legitimate and
humane. Hamas organized Thursday's
rallies to express support for the Palestinian delegation to the cease-fire
talks in Cairo. Al-Masri urged the
Palestinian negotiators to stick to their demands. Addressing the delegation, he added: “You
must know that the people, our people are great and firm in their
steadfastness. Don’t return without having extracted our rights and demands.”
The Hamas spokesman claimed that Israel has only one choice: to
comply with the demands of the Palestinians. He said Israel would fail
to achieve in the political arena what it failed to gain during the war. He
also pointed out that the issue of disarming Hamas and other armed groups in
the Gaza Strip was not discussed during the Cairo talks. “The weapons of the resistance are sacred and
we won’t give them up,” al-Masri said. “The war has not ended and our fighters
are still in the battlefield and their fingers are still on the trigger. Our
rockets are also still directed toward Tel Aviv and Lod and beyond them. The
tunnels are still alive and exist deep inside the Zionist entity.”
Al-Masri advised tens of thousands of Israelis who left their
homes in the South not to return unless Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu
complied with all the demands of Hamas and other groups. And this just off the press…Hamas's armed
wing, the Izz a-Din al-Kassam Brigades, said it would issue an "important
statement" Thursday night on efforts to extend the cease-fire with Israel.
PS.- Frankly, this all
reminds me of Jabotinski…During the 1930s, Jabotinsky was deeply concerned with
the situation of the Jewish community in Eastern Europe, particularly Poland.
In 1936, Jabotinsky prepared the so-called "evacuation plan", which
called for the evacuation of the entire Jewish population of Poland, Hungary
and Romania to Palestine. The evacuation of Jewish communities in Poland,
Hungary and Romania was to take place over a ten-year period. However, the controversy was rendered moot
when the British government vetoed it, and the World Zionist Organization's
chairman, Chaim Weizmann, dismissed it. Two years later, in 1938, Jabotinsky
stated in a speech that Polish Jews 'were living on the edge of the volcano'
and warned that a wave of bloody super-pogroms would happen in Poland sometime
in the near future. Jabotinsky went on to warn Jews in Europe that they should
leave for Palestine as soon as possible.
Actually, Jabotinsky was predicting the Holocaust. In his writings and
public appearance he warned against the dangers of an outbreak of violence
against the Jewish population of East Central Europe.
In 1939, Britain enacted the McDonald White Paper, in which Jewish
immigration to Palestine under the British Mandate was to be restricted to
75,000 for the next five years, after which further Jewish immigration would
depend on Arab consent. In addition, land sales to Jews were to be restricted,
and Palestine would be groomed for independence as an binational state.
Jabotinsky was convinced that there was no way for the Jews to
regain any part of Palestine without opposition from the Arabs and he added: "Our
habit of constantly and zealously answering to any rabble has already done us a
lot of harm and will do much more
. ... We do not have to apologize for
anything. We are a people as all other peoples; we do not have any intentions
to be better than the rest. As one of the first conditions for equality we
demand the right to have our own villains, exactly as other people have them.
... We do not have to account to anybody, we are not to sit for anybody's
examination and nobody is old enough to call on us to answer. We came before
them and will leave after them. We are what we are, we are good for ourselves,
we will not change, nor do we want to."
According to Jabotinski, "The policy of the new State of
Israel was based squarely on Jabotinsky's teachings: every Jew had the right to
enter Palestine; only active retaliation would deter the Arabs; only Jewish
armed force would ensure the Jewish state". AMEN
