UN MATIN TRISTE DANS GAZA

This morning, at 9:30 AM, in violation of the latest ceasefire, Hamas terrorists, including a suicide attacker, fired at our forces in southern Gaza. We suspect that Hamas kidnapped 2nd. Lt. Hadar Goldin, an IDF officer, during the exchange of fire and dragged him into a tunnel. The IDF is currently conducting extensive searches in order to locate the missing soldier. During the event, 2 IDF soldiers were killed by Hamas fire- Maj. Benaya Sarel, 26 and Staff Sgt. Liel Gidoni, 20.
Major Benaya Sarel, commander of the Givati Reconnaissance Company, killed by Hamas terrorists in the southern Gaza Strip.
Staff Sergeant Shay Kushnir, killed operating along the border with the Gaza Strip when a mortar was fired at the forces. Hopes for an announced 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire between Israel and Hamas didn't even last two hours, by some accounts. As has been a hallmark of the conflict, each side blamed the other for resuming the fighting. St.-Sgt. Shay Kushnir, 20, of Kiryat Motzkin dreamed of serving in a combat position in the armed forces despite having gone to school at the Technological School of the Air Force in Haifa. A day before his death, Kushnir's father wrote a message on his son's Facebook page, "I really, really, really miss you," he wrote. Kushnir was laid to rest on Friday afternoon in the military section of Kiryat Ata cemetery. HONOR AND GLORY TO OUR HEROES...MAY THE L-RD OF ISRAEL GRANT SUCCOR TO THEIR FAMILIES!!!
